Should you ask your friends for their help in choosing your next mattress?
Mar. 21, 2023

While your friends may have good intentions and want to help you, it's important to remember that mattress preferences are highly personal and subjective. What works for one person may not work for another, as people have different body types, sleep positions, and comfort preferences.

Instead of relying solely on the opinions of your friends, it's recommended that you do your own research and testing to find a mattress that suits your individual needs. This could (should) include visiting mattress stores and testing out different models, reading online reviews from trusted sources (incorrect as this is like asking people who are not even your friends what they like in a mattress. Importantly the reason many online mattresses have good reviews only is because the 20-30% of people who didn't like a particular model returned it), and considering factors such as your budget, sleep position, and any specific health concerns or issues you may have.

That being said, if you do decide to ask your friends for their input, it's important to take their opinions with a grain of salt and not base your decision solely on their recommendations. Ultimately, the best way to choose a mattress is to try it out for yourself and see how it feels for your own unique sleep needs.
