I first met Charlie in the early 80’s although there is no way he will remember his ever present hospitality will never be forgotten by me. Maybe a half dozen times a year a small group of us would drive from Toronto on a Sunday night to visit Charlie’s Flamboro Downs Racetrack. We would always book a table in the dining room and he noticed us doing so even though he was a busy man.

At least once a year he would approach our table, look each of us in the eye and thank us for our continued support of his business. I never forgot his appreciation and because of him I do the same at Nine Clouds when I recognize a previous ,customer or when someone lets me know they’ve shopped with us before. 

Thanks Charlie, for teaching me a valuable lesson long before I started my own business. Many could learn from this generous man.
